Featured Recipe - Grilled Oregano Shrimp

Grilled Oregano ShrimpThis super easy recipe is great for a quick appetizer! Shrimp can be cooked in a hot lightly oiled large (2-burner) ridged grill pan, about 6 minutes if a grill isn't available.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup olive oil
2 teaspoons dried oregano, crumbled
1 small red onion
24 peeled and deveined large shrimp (about 1 pound)

Preparation

Prepare grill for direct-heat cooking over medium-hot charcoal (medium-high heat for gas).
Stir together oil, oregano, and 3/4 teaspoon each of salt and pepper in a bowl.
Cut onion lengthwise into 3/4-inch wedges and separate layers.
Toss shrimp and onion with oil mixture, then thread 6 shrimp onto each skewer, alternating with single layers of onion.
Grill shrimp, covered only if using a gas grill, turning once, until just cooked through, 3 to 4 minutes total.

Productivity Boosters

Less Work Load
Falling behind in your work? Got too much on your plate? If your productivity is lagging, the following five tips from the Website www.lifeoptimizer.org just may make a difference:

RISE EARLY. Why do you need to rise early? Because early-risers have more productive mornings, get more done, and report less stress on average than "late-risers." Many people find early morning as a very productive time to do their tasks. You'll be able to accomplish more in the same amount of time.

START WITH THE MOST IMPORTANT TASK. After doing your morning routine, like exercising or having breakfast, start your day by tackling your most important task for that day. Remember that it's the most important, not the most urgent task. Some people choose to start their day with things that seem urgent, but are actually not important.

DON'T MULTITASK. There's an illusion that we'll accomplish more if we multitask. But some studies show that that's wrong. Doing only one task at a time allows you to have the necessary focus to accomplish the task with the highest possible standard.

PREVENT INTERRUPTION. Preventing interruptions is important to help you enter a state of deep focus and concentration, which is called the flow. Find what may interrupt you, such as the cell phone, people around you, or the Internet. Then, take the necessary steps to eliminate any possible interruption as much as possible.

ACTUALLY DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. The key to productivity is actually doing what you need to do. For example, if you're a writer, you need to actually do the writing. Be careful not to get trapped by secondary activities. The most ironic thing is spending your time maintaining your productivity system instead of actually doing what you need to do.
